I remember watching my first mixed martial arts event while playing poker. The event on that night was UFC 59 and as soon as it was over, I knew I had to know more about the sport. I went online and found a lot of footage from previous events and learned as much as I could and then I started to participate in forum discussions about the sport. Now three plus years later, I am the one educating my friends and family on the sport.

I have always been a fan of mixed martial arts. I have trained in Judo, Karate, Wrestling, and now I am training competitively in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. I most recently competed in North American Grappling Association and Combat Corner grappling tournaments. I am also an MMA official working as a judge, timekeeper, cage inspector and locker room attendant for MMA events throughout the Midwest.

I was first shown the sport of mma at the tender age of 8, where I saw UFC 4. Royce Gracie blew me away with something I had never heard of before called brazilian jiu jitsu and I became hooked. After I witnessed the domination of jiu jitsu, I threw out my tae kwon do gi and got tape after tape studying jiu jitsu techniques. And now as I sit here today with encyclopedia books of mma information, I educate people on the sport and its technical aspects.

Back in 2000 some friends of mine found this place that taught "Shootfighting." Intrigued, I went and trained with them and got hooked. I was exposed to UFC then as our "sensei" liked to brag about all these UFC fighters he knew and how he was a referee and judge for them. I didn't really get into it for several years, just followed it in passing. I didn't even pay attention to TUF season one but season two, I got hooked and have been die hard ever since. I've been told I have a keen eye for matchup analysis and am very passionate about my opinions of various subjects in MMA. I'm sure that will become evident.

I was at my friends house and he told me to check out this sport called "UFC". At the time I had no clue what UFC was. All I knew at the time was it was some form of mixed martial arts. So we started watching some of the ppvs, and then The Ultimate Fighter and episodes of UFC unleashed. After that we watched everything we could as we couldn't get enough. Now 4 years later, I am trying to show people as much as possible when it comes to the sport.
