MMA Big show has announced that it will bring "Triple Threat" to the Belterra Casino on Saturday February 20th. The main event for "Triple Threat" will be a heavyweight clash between up and comer Dave Hess and UFC veteran Jake O'Brien. Also in the co-main event will feature MMA Big Show welterweight champion Roger Bowling as he takes on Jerrod Appenzeller.
Those who are familiar with Jake O'Brien know that he's most famous for defeating the always tough Heath Herring back in Herring's first fight in the UFC. However his UFC career was thwarted by losses to the likes of Andrei Arlovski, Jon Jones, and Cain Velasquez. Now with his sights set on getting back in the win column he will take on submission stylist Dave Hess.
Dave Hess currently owns a 3-1 pro record in the heavyweight division. Hess last saw action back in July at MMA Big Shows "Unstoppable" when he lost to Steven Banks by way of technical knock out. Look for Hess to come out hungry and make a statement in this fight, knowing that this fight has heavyweight title implications and will grant him instant recognition for defeating the UFC veteran in O'Brien.
In other fights for "Triple Threat", former MMA Big Show middleweight champion Mojo Horne will take on Strikeforce veteran Lucas Lopes, local fan favorite TJ Ball will make his pro mma debut against Brandon Barger, and MMA Big Show's Amateur lightweight champion will take on Cage Rage veteran Muhammad Abdullah in a weltwerweight contest.
Tickets for "Triple Threat" are priced at $25, $40, $45, and $75, and will be available on Ticketmaster or the MMA Big Show website here.
